Roger Connor - Baseball Hall of Fame



Roger Connor (July 1, 1857January 4, 1931) was a 19th century Major League Baseball player, born in Waterbury, Connecticut. Connor is known for being the player whom Babe Ruth passed when Ruth became the all-time home run champion. He hit 138 home runs during his 18-year career, and his career home run record stood for 23 years after his retirement in 1897.

After his playing career was over his last home in waterbury was in the Willow Street Area.

He had a job as a maintenance supervisor in the School Department.
